Before the Bell Program

Washington Elementary School Before the Bell programs allows parents to drop off their child/children to the school at 7:30 the earliest. The parent must walk the child into the building and sign them in for that day in the designated room or with the designated teacher.

At the sound of an alarm, everyone must exit the building and follow the exit route diagram for each room.  Immediate movement should be done quickly and quietly to ensure everyone’s safety; therefore students nor staff are permitted to go to closets to retrieve sweaters or coats when the fire alarm rings.  All students will return to the building as promptly as possible.

The Roselle School District has developed a Crisis Management Plan that is designed to minimize danger to anyone within the school, should an emergency occur.  Our main objective is to attend to the health and welfare of your child in the event of a crisis.

We plan and conduct drills to prepare students and staff for potential emergencies or crisis situations.  These include lockdown drills, active shooter drills, bomb threat drills and evacuation drills.   Our primary objective is to assure the safety of your child.  Washington School students and staff walk to L.V. Moore Middle School during evacuation drills.
